Service Description

Get hands-on as owner & cheesemaker, Steve Dougherty, talks and teaches his way through a production day in our farmstead creamery. Brief syllabus: -participation in key steps of raw milk cheese manufacture. -explanation of craftsmanship underlying the process (art, science & practicality) -intermittent sit-down lectures re: cheese appreciation (history, science, tradition) -Tasting/Pairing Lunch Expect. . . -To be on your feet for 6 hours -To get a little wet & messy -to wear a hat or hairnet -To be in a somewhat confined room with others. (We'll have outdoor time as well). -To walk around a farm including up and down at least one hill. -To be helpful -To learn a lot!
